Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile application "Genius PDF AI" (hereinafter "the App"). Operator: Liu Qi (hereinafter "we", "us", or "our").
Last Updated: May 24, 2026 · Effective Date: May 24, 2026
1. Overview
The App provides PDF and document tools for iPhone, including merging, splitting, previewing, creating PDFs from images or text, converting common office formats, and managing a local document library. We value your privacy. This policy explains what information is processed, how it is used, and what choices you have.
About "AI" and your documents: The "AI" in our name refers to an intelligent local tool experience. Core document processing (such as generating, editing, merging, or converting PDFs) is performed on your device. We do not upload your files, photos, or in-app text to servers operated by us for AI analysis, model training, or cloud storage. If you use system features such as Share to send files to other apps or services, those recipients handle the data under their own policies.
2. Information We Process
2.1 Content you provide or select
- Images, scans, or documents imported through Photos, Camera, or the system file picker are used only to perform actions you initiate (for example, creating, editing, exporting, or sharing PDFs).
- Files saved in the App's document library are stored locally in the App sandbox on your device unless you choose to export or share them elsewhere.
- Text entered in in-app tools (such as the chat-style PDF creation flow) is converted to PDF locally on your device.
2.2 On-device settings and app state
- We use on-device storage (such as UserDefaults) to remember necessary app state, including whether you have completed the first-launch guide and lightweight workspace indicators needed for the App to function.
- These values remain on your device and are not uploaded to our own servers.
2.3 Local notifications
With your permission, the App may schedule local notifications to remind you to return to your workspace. These notifications are created and delivered by iOS on your device. We do not use local notifications to collect network-identifiable profiles on our own servers.
3. Advertising and Third-Party Services
The App is supported by advertising and uses third-party SDKs for ads, measurement, and remote configuration. These partners may collect or receive device and usage information according to their own privacy policies.
3.1 Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK)
- The App displays third-party ads, which may include app open ads, interstitial ads, and native ads.
- AdMob and its partners may collect information such as device identifiers, IP address, ad interaction data, and diagnostic data to deliver, measure, and improve advertising.
- Where required by platform rules, Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt may be shown before personalized advertising identifiers are accessed.
- Google privacy information: Google Privacy Policy · How Google uses data in AdMob
3.2 Firebase (Google)
- Firebase Analytics may collect app usage and device information (such as app events, device model, OS version, and installation-related identifiers) to help us understand how the App is used.
- Firebase Remote Config is used to retrieve remote settings for the App, including advertising configuration. Remote Config requests may transmit app and device metadata to Google/Firebase servers.
- Firebase privacy information: Firebase Privacy and Security
3.3 Meta (Facebook SDK)
- The App integrates the Facebook SDK for app event measurement and advertising-related analytics.
- With SDK settings enabled in the App, Meta may receive app activity events and, where permitted, advertising identifiers (such as IDFA) to measure installs, usage, and ad performance.
- When ads generate paid value, aggregated ad revenue signals may be reported to Meta for measurement purposes.
- Meta privacy information: Meta Privacy Policy
3.4 Advertising attribution (SKAdNetwork)
The App includes Apple SKAdNetwork identifiers required for privacy-preserving ad attribution. Ad networks may receive conversion-related signals through Apple’s SKAdNetwork framework rather than direct access to your document content.
4. Permissions
The App requests system permissions only when needed and shows Apple's standard permission prompts with the following purposes:
- Camera: to capture photos used to create or preview PDF pages.
- Photo Library: to import images into your PDF workspace.
- App Tracking Transparency: to request permission before using your device's advertising identifier to deliver more relevant ads and measure ad performance, where applicable.
- Notifications: to send optional local reminders about your workspace.
You can change or revoke these permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Some features may not work if a required permission is denied.
5. What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not upload your document content to our own servers for PDF processing.
- We do not use your document content for purposes unrelated to the tools you choose to use in the App.
- We do not collect precise geographic location data through the App.
6. Your Choices
- You can limit ad tracking in iOS Settings (Privacy & Security → Tracking).
- You can disable notifications for the App in iOS Settings.
- You can delete documents inside the App or remove all local App data by uninstalling the App (excluding copies you shared to other services).
- Where applicable, you may also use vendor-specific opt-out tools provided by Google or Meta through their respective privacy settings and policies.
7. Data Retention
Documents and settings stored locally on your device remain there until you delete them or uninstall the App. Data collected by third-party SDKs is retained according to each provider's policies and configuration.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the email address below.
9. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect files and settings stored within the App sandbox on your device. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information processed on or through your device and third-party networks.
10. International Users
Third-party services integrated in the App (such as Google and Meta) may process information on servers located outside your country. By using the App, you understand that such processing may occur subject to those providers' terms and privacy policies.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and revise the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
